Salon Business Specialist (SBS)

Purpose of Position:
This critical role is intended to help drive market expansion of our brands within the Salon channel. At the same time, the SBS professional is expected to retain their existing book of business by advancing Ethos positive reputation in the beauty industry through consistent execution of the sales strategy. Importantly, the SBS must advocate for a superior customer experience by conducting sales operations thought the lens of Ethos values and the lens of our brand partners at all touch points including all communication channels, events, and meetings.
Position Summary:
The SBS is responsible for the entire sales cycle for assigned and organically developed list of accounts by region / territory. Your personal care of account relationships will require in person meetings. But certain situations may warrant the use of virtual meeting platforms. The SBS will engage with salons to provide expert support & analysis, product “technical” knowledge, brand, and portfolio representation.
Conduct visits on monthly basis to provide knowledge, education, business expansion guidance. Grow territory sales and profitability while operating within the framework of company policy, strategy, and managerial guidance.
Essential job functions and responsibilities:
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and gross margin objectives.
- Prospect, qualify and open new accounts.
- Expand sales with assigned book of business.
- Identify customer needs and connect them with the right growth strategy, focusing on products, training, promotions, and prof. education.
- Facilitate the communication linkages between salon business owners and all Ethos support functions.
- Assume role as primary relationship builder with Salon owners and provide timely account service and sales support.
- Maintain continuity between Ethos and salons on scheduled promotions, introductions, education, and sales events.
- Identifies customer education needs and facilitates internal resources to ensure customer needs are met.
- Responsible for timely and accurate processing of internal sales admin duties including (expense reports, conversions and returns forms).
- Work with CSR to ensure sales order management processes are followed including accuracy of customer data in the ERP/CRM system.
- Handles salesperson samples and other sales assets with care and thorough oversight.
- Understands and follows Ethos employee handbook and all policies including those related to PTO time and use of company resources.
- Perform duties while compliant with state and federal regulations including those related to the operation of vehicles and cell phone usage.
- Responsible for compliance with cost to serve customer policy including matters related to returns, freight, and rewards programs.
- Oversees order management activities including taking measures to ensure salons have the appropriate stock levels (mindfulness of their optimal cash and space considerations)
- Immerses self in company sponsored events, training and stays abreast of market and industry trends.
- Primary point of contact to solve customer disputes or misunderstandings for billing, account balances due and reward programs.
