Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Nurse Manager of Pediatric Surgery, you will have oversight of Pediatric Cardiac Noninvasive Vascular Lab, Pediatric Cath Lab, and Pediatric CT Surgery Staff. You will be responsible for all department functions in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals.

The Nurse Manager of Pediatric an RN and accepts responsibility for critical thinking decisions within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

You will provide leadership, clinical expertise, and functional direction to Pediatric Cardiac Noninvasive Vascular Lab, Pediatric Cath Lab, and Pediatric CT Surgery supervisors and staff to achieve optimal perioperative patient outcomes.

  • You will create department specific initiatives and process improvement.
  • You will integrate collaborative practice and working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
  • You will accept responsibility for management of multiple levels of personnel (including supervisory positions), payroll, budget, capital, business plan, and physician relationships including recruitment endeavors.
  • You will serve as liaison for hospital, community and other institutions.
  • You will organize and supervise human and material resources.
  • You will evaluate quality of perioperative practices in relation to established professional and legal standards.
  • You will collaborate with other disciplines to facilitate the delivery of patient care.
What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree required. Master’s in nursing or related degree preferred.

LICENSURE/

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license.
  • AHA or ARC BLS provider required.
  • CNOR required within one year of hire/transfer or promotion or specialty certification.
  • Nurse Leader Certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Ten years of Operating Room experience with five years of perioperative nursing management experience. ·
  • Demonstrate knowledge of financial implications of materials, equipment, and human resources.
