All about General Merchandise:
Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent guest experience by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all GM areas of the store. They conduct inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and pricing processes for all areas of the store.

They enable efficient delivery to guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

The role provides opportunities to build and develop skills for a career in retail and operations.

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you perform daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to assist with their needs and solve issues.
• Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks to achieve goals aligned with business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• Operate power equipment if certified to move merchandise or store fixtures.
• Execute processes such as changing prices, product setup and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed.
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to resolve guest issues and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
• Work safely; follow safety policies, report hazards, and correct where possible.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking and packing orders, delivering pickup orders) while complying with laws and policies.
• Perform other duties based on business needs.

• Scan, move, and handle merchandise safely; may require lifting up to 44 pounds without assistance.
• Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable attendance.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions; able to perform duties across multiple areas (Drive-Up, carryout, etc.).
