About the Role:
The Head of Procurement will lead strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost optimization, and procurement operations for a leading manufacturing firm. This role requires deep expertise in raw material procurement, supplier development, risk management, and aligning procurement with production, quality, and R&D goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Procurement:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with business goals, focusing on raw materials.
- Conduct market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities, risks, and industry-specific trends.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure procurement supports technical and innovation requirements.
- Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers with a focus on sustainability, ESG compliance, and supply reliability.
- Build long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers for separators, BMS components, and cell packaging materials.
- Monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as cost, quality, delivery, and innovation.
- Cost Control & Negotiation:
- Lead negotiations for contracts and pricing agreements to secure competitive terms.
- Implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or supply continuity.
- Operational Excellence:
- Ensure timely procurement to support production schedules and inventory targets.
- Oversee procurement planning, purchase orders, and vendor payment alignments.
- Implement ERP systems and digital tools to streamline procurement visibility and automation.
- Risk & Compliance:
- Manage supply chain risks, raw material shortages, and regulatory challenges such as REACH, RoHS, and conflict minerals.
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations, quality standards, and audit requirements.
- Support sustainability goals by sourcing from ethical and environmentally responsible suppliers.
- 14–22 years of procurement experience in manufacturing, engineering, automotive, batteries, electronics, or similar industries.
- Expertise in raw material procurement and global supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, vendor development, and contract management skills.
- Deep understanding of procurement systems, digital tools, and ERP platforms.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and analytical abilities.
