After School Childcare Leader

Overview

McAuley Village Childcare Center is opening soon and will include Infant/Toddler, Preschool and School Age After School care. This is a part-time position for after school care for school aged children.

The After School Leader/Teacher is responsible for assisting the Education Coordinator/Director with operating a licensed school age childcare, assisting with special events, and developing relationships with children and parents as needed. The Group Leader will oversee and engage with children in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with youth, fostering their development, and ensuring a safe and nurturing atmosphere.

This role involves leading activities, managing classroom dynamics, and providing support to both children and staff.

• Assist the Education Coordinator/Director with operating a licensed school age childcare.
• Assist with planning and coordinating special events.
• Develop positive relationships with children and parents as needed.
• Lead activities, manage classroom dynamics, and support children and staff.

• 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of experience working with school-age children
• Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking is beneficial
• Knowledge of and experience with diverse populations is preferred
• Proof of required immunizations for RI Childcare Workers
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification
• Completion of Criminal Record Background Check
