Position SummaryThe Safe Care Part-time provider will be responsible for delivering the Safe Care program to caregivers in their home. Safe Care offers evidence-based training for at-risk parents of children aged 0-5. The primary goal is to prevent child abuse & neglect through proactive support and education. The Safe Care program covers 3 topic areas:
Parent-Infant/Child Interactions, Home Safety, and Child Health. The role involves administration of pre and post assessments (ASQ and NCFAS) to help identify any other needs that the children and families may have which would require additional referrals for services. The Safe Care Part-time provider will be part of a dedicated team of trained Safe Care Providers who deliver compassionate care under the supervision of our skilled Coach/Trainer.
- Deliver the Safe Care program to caregivers in their homes.
- Conduct pre- and post-assessments (ASQ and NCFAS) to identify additional needs and referrals.
- Collaborate with a team of Safe Care Providers and under the supervision of a Coach/Trainer.
- Bachelor’s degree in a human service related field or equivalent experience.
- At least one year experience providing home visiting services; experience with young children and families and/or child welfare preferred.
- Commitment to building relationships with under-resourced, at-risk families.
- Comfort with home visits in potentially cluttered or challenging settings.
- Willingness to learn and deliver a highly structured intervention with fidelity and pursue Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Strong ability to engage parents, and adaptability in service delivery while maintaining fidelity to the model.
- Open to supervision and coaching feedback/evaluation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance and registration.
- Strong computer and internet skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; ASL or multilingual skills are compensated as specified.
- Travel to community locations and agency sites; may involve stairs/elevators.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
