Brown University – Department of Literary Arts – Position:

This fixed‑term, 10‑month position (18 hours per week, renewable every 2 years) is hybrid‑eligible. The role promotes African and Caribbean poetry by creating and managing engaging digital content for the African Poetry Book Fund (APBF) and Caribbean Poetry Book Series (CPBSC).

• Create, research, and publish a weekly newsletter and blog posts highlighting African poets, poetry news, and APBF/CPBSC initiatives.
• Maintain and regularly update the APBF and CPBSC websites, ensuring content remains relevant and accessible.
• Collaborate with APBF/CPBSC team members and Brown technical services to maintain website infrastructure and streamline communications.
• Amplify the visibility and impact of African and Caribbean poetry globally.

• Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination.
• Excellent research skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with web content management systems.
• Knowledge of marketing tools for measuring engagement success.
• Proficiency in basic image manipulation and graphic design with Adobe Photoshop.
• Willingness to learn basic video editing.
• Experience managing Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms for higher education or similar clients.
• Familiarity with Google Suite and Constant Contact or related products.
