Health Plus Staffing is currently seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Medical Director of Primary Care Services for a respected community health organization in Providence, RI. This is a pivotal leadership opportunity to help shape the future of accessible healthcare in one of New England’s most dedicated and impactful healthcare systems.

About the Role:

As the Medical Director of Primary Care Services, you will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer to lead clinical strategy, quality improvement initiatives, and clinician engagement. You’ll oversee a network of primary care providers while also maintaining a small clinical caseload (0.2 FTE). The role is ideal for a collaborative and strategic physician leader with a passion for high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key

Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership across multiple primary care locations

  • Mentor and support teams of physicians and clinicians

  • Develop and implement initiatives that improve quality, access, and outcomes

  • Collaborate on organizational strategy and clinical innovation

  • Participate in vacation coverage and on-call rotation (as needed)

Qualifications:
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics

  • Active Rhode Island MD/DO license (or ability to obtain)

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience and 3+ years of physician leadership

  • Skilled in using metrics and data to inform clinical decisions

  • Strong communication, team-building, and coaching skills
