Brown University Health is creating a new service line, Intensivist for Cardiac Surgery in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit. This position requires a physician with expertise in critical care medicine, cardiac care and managing critically ill patients recovering from cardiac surgery. This position requires a physician with expertise in both critical care medicine and cardiology, as well as experience in managing critically ill patients recovering from cardiac surgery.
Additional leadership opportunities are available for experienced physicians.
- Care for patients in a 14 bed CTICU setting and some additional coverage for 10 bed CCU
- Guide the management of complex cardiac patients, collaborating with cardiac surgeons and cardiologists
- Work closely with a dedicated team of 5 full-time cardiac surgeons and 15+ experienced cardiac surgical care advanced practice providers
- Management of Mechanical Circulatory Support to include Impella, LVAD, and ECMO
- Brown University Academic Appointment
- PSLF eligible

- Board certification or eligible in Critical Care (Emergency, Pulmonary, Anesthesiology, Surgical, Internal Medicine and/or Cardiology)
- Experience working in a cardiac surgery critical care setting
- Experience in managing patients with Mechanical Circulatory Support
