Position

Physician (Regular FT) Cardiologist Non‑Invasive – U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

Summary

Eligible for the Educational Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Applicants must apply within four months of appointment. Recruitment/Relocation incentive: authorized.

Pay

$ – $ per year.

Qualifications
  • United States citizenship or eligible non‑citizen per VA policy.
  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent osteopathic medicine degree from a VA‑approved institution.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia.
  • Completed residency in an accredited core specialty that leads to board certification (ACGME or AOA). Residents in approved programs may serve as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs) on a limited basis.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Board certified in Cardiology (preferred).
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical practice with substantial expertise in cardiovascular imaging.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring at all levels.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position and a pre‑placement physical examination.
Basic Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship (or eligible non‑citizen).
  • Doctor of Medicine or osteopathic medicine degree.
  • Degree from a VA‑approved school.
  • Full, unrestricted license.
  • Residency in an accredited program.
  • Board certification (if applicable).
Duties
  • Provide expert care in cardiovascular imaging, including echocardiography and cardiac MRI.
  • Engage in inpatient and outpatient clinical duties.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs, including lectures and workshops.
  • Participate in curriculum development and educational initiatives.
  • Contribute to section goals, strategic planning, and interdisciplinary committees.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of imaging modalities and practice standards.
