Hematologist​/Oncologist

A cancer center affiliated with a large hospital system in Providence, Rhode Island is seeking a skilled Hematology/Oncology MD for a locum tenens opportunity. The clinician will deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care supported by an experienced clinical team and modern documentation systems. This ongoing role features a weekday schedule with structured call coverage and a supportive ramp-up period for patient volume.

Practice Info

• Cancer center affiliated with a large hospital system
• Inpatient and outpatient setting
• Clinical support team includes 1 full-time physician, 1 part-time physician, and office admins
• Clinical documentation managed through a combination of paper charting and an EMR system, supported by a Dragon dictation system
• Adult patient population

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient hematology and oncology coverage on-site
• Conduct inpatient rounding in the latter half of the day
• Manage a patient volume ranging from 12 to 20 encounters per day
• Handle 0 to 1 new consults per day
• Participate in call coverage on a 1:1 rotation, consisting of one week and one weekend per month

Shift & Schedule

• ASAP - Ongoing
• Day shift
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Call coverage required on a 1:1 rotation, consisting of one week and one weekend per month

Qualifications

• MD
• Board certification required
• Hospital privileges are required
• Prescriptive authority required
