The Center for Scholar Development is the home to the four campus TRIO programs:
Upward Bound, Student Support Services-Regular, Student Support Services-STEM, the McNair Scholars; and the college’s Preparatory Enrollment Program. The mission of the CSD department is to support educational pathways in an affirming environment for first‑generation scholars in their pursuit of post‑secondary success.

The Assistant Project Director, McNair Scholars Program is responsible for the provision of high‑level advice and comprehensive research to inform strategic decision‑making by the President and the Senior Leadership Team; play lead role in researching and benchmarking to inform key strategic initiatives and projects, including developing and managing programs, preparing proposals and presentations, as well as influencing and negotiating on internal priorities and agendas;

lead, manage and coordinate key projects with College‑wide impact to support the goals and objectives of the Rhode Island College; oversee high‑profile College‑wide events, as assigned by the President.

Required qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in education, College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in similar work settings and with similar populations, as well as professional experience providing support and individual advising to undergraduate student populations.

Proposed starting salary: $61,000-$63,000
