Essential Job Functions
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for disability services and in and out of classroom accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Meet with prospective and current students and their families, as needed, and maintain records accordingly.
- Provide disability services orientations to students, parents and faculty.
- Educate faculty on best practices they can use while teaching students with disabilities, including researching and recommending assistive technology.
- Advise on personal and academic issues for students with disabilities.
- Coordinate special workshops, instructional programs and placement testing, as necessary.
- Manage compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act to consistently meet the needs of students.
- Participate with various departmental or campus committees on disability related issues.
- Proctor testing sessions, as necessary.
- Supervise and manage student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a master's degree.
- Moderate amount of experience working with advising students with disabilities or other related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in special education, counseling or a related field of study.
