Essential Job Functions

• Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for disability services and in and out of classroom accommodations for students with disabilities.
• Meet with prospective and current students and their families, as needed, and maintain records accordingly.
• Provide disability services orientations to students, parents and faculty.
• Educate faculty on best practices they can use while teaching students with disabilities, including researching and recommending assistive technology.
• Advise on personal and academic issues for students with disabilities.
• Coordinate special workshops, instructional programs and placement testing, as necessary.
• Manage compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act to consistently meet the needs of students.
• Participate with various departmental or campus committees on disability related issues.
• Proctor testing sessions, as necessary.
• Supervise and manage student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a master's degree.
• Moderate amount of experience working with advising students with disabilities or other related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in special education, counseling or a related field of study.
