EssentialJob Functions
- Develops and implements a comprehensive plan for disability services and in and out of classroom accommodations for students with disabilities
- Meets with prospective and current students and their families, as needed, and maintains records accordingly
- Provides disability services orientations to students, parents and faculty
- Educates faculty on best practices they can use while teaching students with disabilities including researching and recommending assistive technology
- Advises on personal and academic issues for students with disabilities
- Coordinates special workshops, instructional programs and placement testing, as necessary
- Manages compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act to consistently meet the needs of students
- Participates with various departmental or campus committees on disability related issues
- Proctors testing sessions, as necessary
- Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Minimum of a master's degree
- Moderate amount of experience working with advising students with disabilities or other related experience
- Master's degree in special education, counseling or a related field of study
Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
