Classroom Behavior Specialist PD – Brown University Health

In collaboration with the classroom team, the Classroom Behavior Specialist assists the Special Education Teacher with the implementation of effective academic and social‑emotional programming for assigned students. The role ensures compliance with student IEPs, supports daily life activities, and collects data to inform student progress.

• Consistently apply the corporate values of respect, honesty, and fairness, and pursue excellence in improving student health within a comprehensive integrated academic health system.
• Assist in the formulation and implementation of social‑emotional and behavioral programming consistent with students’ IEPs.
• Support students during activities of daily life such as toileting and other self‑care.
• Collect and manage data on social‑emotional and behavioral functioning, and prepare and present verbal and written reports.
• Provide academic support as directed by the classroom teacher and team leader.
• Prepare and submit required paperwork for the student record.
• Attend and participate in classroom team meetings, supervisory sessions, staff meetings, and other student‑related meetings.
• Observe all Bradley Schools policies, rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education: Baccalaureate degree preferred, major in education or related human services.

Experience: Prior experience working with children is helpful. Demonstrated ability to work independently within department policies and to de‑escalate crises in a psychiatric setting. Must be able to physically manage students safely, including lifting up to fifty pounds.

Skills: Basic knowledge of data entry/management programs such as Excel (training provided if needed).

Certification: Bradley Hospital Safety Care Certification.

$19.03 – $31.39 per day
