Adjuncts, Biology Department (Anatomy and Physiology) (2026)

The Biology Department is seeking candidates to fill part‑time instructor positions with expertise in Anatomy and Physiology. We welcome applications from those qualified to teach introductory, intermediate and advanced courses. We seek adjunct faculty committed to teaching and working with our multicultural student population, teaching courses as needed at the undergraduate/graduate level.

• Teach in‑person specialty classes for students majoring in Biology, Health Sciences, Nursing, including the new Anatomy & Physiology.
• Occasional duties as required.

• M.A. in a biological science.
• Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate instruction and to mentoring students.

• Experience teaching introductory biology and advanced courses including human anatomy and physiology.
• Experience with nontraditional students and with an ethnically diverse student population.

• Candidates must have authorization to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
• Appointment contingent upon acceptable background screening once selected.
• Union eligibility:
  Adjuncts eligible to join RIC/AFT Adjunct Union upon completing 6 load hours (excludes applied music) within two consecutive previous years.
• No fringe benefits.
• Upon hire, candidate must provide official transcript of highest degree earned.
• Applications accepted continuously and reviewed if openings become available.
• Writing sample, teaching evaluations, letters of recommendation not required at time of application; required only if requested directly by department chair.
