Bridge Engineer – HDR

Working as part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you will shape the systems that move people and goods safely, sustainably, and efficiently.
Responsibilities- Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques.
- Work on bridge projects that typically include steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, segmental and cable box culverts, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
- Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized design and analysis software, perform structural load calculations, and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
- Review, assign work, and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in bridge design.
- Candidates residing locally are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous experience in bridge design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-Multi Pier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP
2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, sp Column, STLBridge
LRFD, STLBridge. - Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bently Open Bridge Designer , Open Bridge Modeler, and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3D.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Micro Station, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, Prestress Concrete Design.
- Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software.
- Experience managing junior staff.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
