Geotechnical Engineer 2 (2026 MS New Grads)
Job DescriptionUnder general supervision, creates excavation, dewatering, shallow/deep foundations, dams/reservoirs/levees, geo-environmental projects, etc. engineering designs of basic to moderate complexity to meet client project requirements. Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs. Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.
Updates design requirements as necessary. Performs soil sampling analyses and modeling. Contributes to firm’s TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals. Performs other duties as required. May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference.
- Design and review excavation, dewatering, foundations, and geo-environmental engineering projects of basic to moderate complexity.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
- Conduct site reviews and studies to align designs with location specifications.
- Perform soil sampling analyses and modeling.
- Develop white papers and technical design documentation.
- Publish technical papers to journals.
- Assist with poster and presentation material for conferences.
Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline. 1 year of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred QualificationsCandidates looking to start after August 2025 are preferred.

Skills and Abilities- Intermediate knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
- Knowledge of engineering principles of design.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
