• Oversee the recording and reconciliation of ceded and assumed reinsurance premiums, losses, and commissions.
• Ensure timely settlement of reinsurance recoverables and payables.
• Prepare and review reinsurance-related journal entries and schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, statutory accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
• Analyze reinsurance results and variances, providing insights to senior management.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance controls.
• Supervise and mentor reinsurance accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.
• Coordinate workload and ensure deadlines are met.
• Work closely with actuarial, finance, and reinsurance operations teams to ensure accurate data flow.
• Liaise with brokers and reinsurers to resolve discrepancies and maintain strong relationships.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in insurance or reinsurance accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles, as well as Schedule

• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with reinsurance systems is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
