A Surgical Technologist is a member of the surgical team who assists the RN with delivery of direct patient care in the operative setting.
EducationIn addition to the skills normally obtained through completion of a High School education, must also be a graduate from an accredited School of Surgical Technology.

Experience1-2 years minimum experience as a Surgical Technologist
Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety RequirementsStands, sits, walks, stoops, and lifts up to 25 pounds. Frequent lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, and transferring of patients and equipment. Exposure to hazardous material and blood and body fluid. Standard work hours are 7 a.m.
-3:30 p.m., 3 p.m.
-8 p.m. On-Call hours are from 3 p.m.
-7 a.m. Weekend and Holiday Call hours are 7 a.m.
-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Meets all safety requirements associated with the Medical Center.
