The Advancement Data & Reporting Analyst plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and strategic utility of the Advancement Office’s donor records and financial reporting systems. This position is responsible for accurate and efficient data entry/gift processing, managing comprehensive donor and financial data in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/NXT, and producing consistent, high-quality analytical reports and dashboards.
We are seeking an intellectually curious, detail-oriented professional who thrives on translating complex data into clear, actionable insights to guide fundraising strategy and leadership decision-making. This role directly supports the school’s new strategic plan by leveraging data to bring MB fundraising to new heights, and the successful candidate will be excited to find innovative ways to utilize our data to elevate the program.
A comprehensive campaign to support the new strategic plan is forthcoming. Given the impending campaign, this position is dynamic and has potential for growth and change, requiring a candidate interested in evolving their skills and responsibilities with the needs of the school.
- Process and accurately record all charitable gifts (checks, stock, wire transfers, DAFs, matching gifts, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Maintain comprehensive electronic documentation and ensure data consistency across Raiser’s Edge, Financial Edge, and other systems.
- Liaise with the Business Office on weekly, monthly, and annual reconciliations; prepare transmittals, audit reports, and pre-audit documentation.
- Manage the pledge reminder and write-off process and ensure all gift records adhere to school policies.
- Manage the comprehensive gift receipting and formal tax acknowledgment process, ensuring accuracy, timely delivery, and compliance with IRS regulations.
- Support early stages of donor stewardship by ensuring all gifts are properly coded, acknowledged, and prepared for personalized recognition efforts.
- Support compliance with all financial, legal, and audit requirements for charitable contributions.
- Maintain strict donor confidentiality.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute accurate, timely analytical reports that track fundraising progress, donor participation, campaign metrics, and annual giving trends.
- Create and manage data visualizations and strategic dashboards for the Advancement Office, school leadership, and volunteers.
- Prepare detailed Development Committee and Board reports, as well as reports for external benchmarking surveys (e.g., DASL, INDEX).
- Respond to ad hoc data requests, providing in-depth analysis to support strategic decisions, goal-setting, and prospect identification.
- Collaborate with the Director of Data Management to ensure data accuracy and optimize reporting workflows between Raiser’s Edge and related platforms.
- Regularly audit and clean data to ensure completeness and accuracy, focusing on strategic data integrity.
- Standardize key data fields (e.g., salutations, addresses, recognition names) and troubleshoot data integration issues.
- Assist with importing appeals, packages, and linking gifts to the appropriate campaigns and opportunities.
- Participate in data improvement and migration projects as needed.
- Help maintain donor recognition listings for the annual honor roll report.
- Participate in the broader school community, including periodic events and coverage duties.
- Support other Advancement initiatives and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 3–5 years of data entry, data management, and data analytics experience, preferably in a nonprofit or independent school environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge (NXT and database view) is essential.
