Lead Data Analyst – Brown University
Join Brown University’s Advancement Division as a Lead Data Analyst and help shape strategic decisions that drive engagement, philanthropic support, and institutional growth. This role collaborates across Marketing, Information Services, Data Management, and Research & Prospect Management, and partners with the Office of Information Technology and the Data Science Institute on advanced machine learning projects.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, analyze, and visually represent data from internal and external sources to inform engagement and solicitation strategies.
- Identify trends, growth opportunities, and predictive insights through statistical analysis, modeling, and data visualization.
- Lead the development and maturation of data analytics services, establishing policies, protocols, and best practices.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams and external partners on advanced analytics projects that impact engagement effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree with strong computational emphasis (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Intelligence, or related field).
- Master’s degree with strong computational emphasis preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, data science, mathematics, computer science, or business intelligence.
- Proficiency in SQL, and experience with Python, R, MATLAB, or C++ for data analysis, modeling, and automation.
- Experience with data visualization and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Dundas BI, or Jupyter).
- Knowledge of statistical modeling and classical machine learning techniques (e.g., linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
