IT Project Manager, Systems Analyst
Position Overview
The State of Rhode Island is seeking a highly organized and experienced Salesforce IT Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a Salesforce project for the Department of State / Secretary of State. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams (administrators, developers, consultants), ensuring solutions meet business needs, adhere to best practices, and are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Management: Lead the entire project lifecycle for Salesforce implementation and enhancements, including defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and success metrics.

Collaboration:
Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure project alignment with organizational objectives. - Team Coordination: Coordinate and motivate cross-functional teams, including developers, administrators, and business analysts, often using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
- Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating to senior management when necessary to keep projects on track.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor project progress, timelines, and budgets, providing regular status reports and presentations to stakeholders and senior management.
- Quality Assurance & Training: Oversee quality assurance (QA) and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and help facilitate end-user training and support to drive platform adoption.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including detailed project plans, technical design documents, and user reference guides.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management within the IT industry.
Proven experience in managing Salesforce implementation projects from inception to completion.
Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall.
Technical
Skills:
Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform and its capabilities, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud.Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira and Microsoft Project).
Familiarity with data migration, integrations, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
- Salesforce Administrator or Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant certification.
