The Registered Nurse - NICU provides specialized nursing care to premature, critically ill, or high-risk newborns within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The RN collaborates closely with families, neonatologists, and multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure safe, evidence-based care, following ANA standards and NICU best practices. The RN performs patient assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and evaluation, while ensuring compliance with all NICU protocols and state nursing regulations.
EPIC experience is required

- Provide 24/7 critical care to premature and severely ill newborns.
- Deliver primary NICU nursing care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Use and adjust NICU-specific equipment: ventilators, CPAP, incubators, monitors, infusion pumps.
- Perform specialized neonatal procedures and maintain accurate documentation in EPIC.
- Feed, comfort, and manage basic infant needs (feeding, diapering, temperature regulation).
- Educate parents/families on neonatal conditions and newborn care at home.
- Offer emotional support to families under stressful NICU conditions.
- Maintain Rhode Island RN licensure and required certifications (CPR, etc.).
- Ensure adherence to NICU protocols, infection prevention standards, and safety policies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, care coordination, and discharge planning.
- Active Rhode Island RN License - REQUIRED
- Minimum 5 years of NICU Experience - REQUIRED
- EPIC Experience - REQUIRED
- COVID Vaccination - REQUIRED
- Proficiency in English
- Current CPR and all NICU-related certifications as required
