FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required but an ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and send out independent contractors to verify property occupancy. The purpose of the property inspection is:
• To verify property occupancy.
• To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.

Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.

We contract with inspectors at the county level. You will be responsible for completing all inspections in your county (or sharing a county with another inspector if volume permits).

• Complete inspections within 5-6 minutes each.
• Finish the inspection within 4 days of being assigned.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in the mobile app.
• Drive long distances, making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

• Computer with an internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; owner pays own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate, varying by county and volume. Although paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $30-$40 per hour.

Depending on the county and its urban/rural nature, you may complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month, working 2-30 hours per week. Lower volume counties offer higher rates; higher volume counties offer lower rates. No minimum inspections; the work is consistent month‑to‑month.

No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
