Overview
A well‑established, growth‑oriented building materials organization is confidentially seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to support and expand residential and light commercial business through relationship‑driven selling. This role is ideal for a self‑motivated sales professional who thrives in the field, understands building materials, and enjoys developing long‑term customer partnerships while driving consistent revenue growth.
Base Pay Range$75,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities- Develop and grow new business with residential and light commercial customers through proactive prospecting, jobsite visits, lead follow‑up, and relationship‑building with contractors, builders, and homeowners
- Manage the full sales cycle, including quoting, estimating, and proposal development, with the ability to perform take‑offs from plans or site visits
- Collaborate closely with inside sales and cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment, clear communication, and exceptional customer service
- Maintain strong customer and vendor relationships, providing field support as needed to drive repeat business and increase wallet share
- Participate in sales meetings, trade shows, and industry events to stay informed on market trends and contribute to overall business development efforts
- 5+ years of outside sales experience with a proven track record of consistent performance
- Experience selling to contractors, builders, and residential customers
- Ability to manage estimates, proposals, and project‑driven sales
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within an assigned territory
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship‑building skills
- Experience with construction or building materials ERP systems is a plus
- Candidates without outside/field sales experience
- Individuals seeking strictly inside or desk‑based roles
- Candidates without exposure to the building materials or construction industry
- Competitive base salary plus commission structure (commensurate with experience)
