Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Associa's Dartmouth Group is hiring a full‑time Maintenance Technician for its community in Providence, RI. The technician will be responsible for the maintenance duties of associations, primarily exterior carpentry, painting, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, and minor roofing repairs, ensuring that the communities we manage are properly and safely maintained.

Work hours:

8 hours a day, on call every 3 weeks. Hourly pay rate: $26–$28.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs to ensure the building is properly maintained.
• Clean and repair building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters, and drains.
• Operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on systems & equipment as needed.
• Maintain company‑issued vehicle (routine PMs, oil changes, etc.), if applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of general, residential, maintenance experience.
• Excellent communication skills, written and spoken.
• Customer service focused and team oriented.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, takes initiative, with strong follow‑up skills.
• Knowledge of electrical and plumbing codes and maintenance requirements (documentation, safety, reporting, regulations, etc.); OSHA worksite and personal safety requirements and state or local governmental safety requirements.
• Time management and critical prioritization skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
