ResponsibilitiesWhat You’ll Do as a Mobile Fleet TechnicianAs aMobile Fleet Technicianat Lewis Services, you’ll:
Perform field-based maintenance, diagnostics, and repair services on fleet assets and heavy equipment
Mount, assemble, and performance check parts as directed by the Fleet Coordinator or Fleet Manager
Identify and diagnose problems or malfunctions in vehicles or heavy equipment using diagnostic tools
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections per company policy and manufacturer recommendations
Conduct necessary repairs, replacements, and adjustments to restore proper function
Ensure the quality of all installations and repairs on Lewis vehicles and equipment
Perform welding and flame-cutting as required
Utilize powered tools such as impact wrenches and manual hand tools for assembly and repair
Test and verify equipment functionality following repairs
Assist with dielectric testing and maintain familiarity with evolving equipment specifications and standards
Maintain a clean, organized workspace and company vehicle
Follow all established safety protocols and safeguard coworkers and the public from hazards
Accurately complete daily time records and work orders
Provide timely, quality workmanship while maintaining company standards
Furnish and maintain personal hand tools as required
Travel as needed, including occasional overnight stays
Perform additional related duties as assigned
High school education, GED, or equivalent vocational training in mechanics, welding, or hydraulics
Prior experience with mechanical, welding, and hydraulic systems related to vehicles or machinery
Proficiency reading and interpreting tape measures, diagrams, and blueprints
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) and medical certification for vehicle operation
Welding and mechanical knowledge required
CPR and First Aid certification (company-provided)
Strong understanding of applicable state, local, and federal regulations
Commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies and procedures
Ability to:
Lift up to 50 lbs to shoulder height and push/pull up to 50 lbs
Walk or hike up to one mile on uneven terrain
Climb onto and crawl under vehicles and equipment
Work outdoors in varied weather conditions (from severe cold to high heat and humidity)
Hear, speak, and communicate effectively
Operate two-handed tools and equipment

Frequently:Lifting, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, driving, stooping, kneeling, reaching
Occasionally:Sitting, climbing stairs/ladders
Never:Tree ascending/descending
Frequently:Outdoor work
Occasionally:Noise exposure, temperature extremes
Rarely:Hazardous materials, air quality issues
Never:Confined spaces
Comments:PPE required in accordance with OSHA and ANSI standards. Conditions vary by region and season.

Air compressor, diagnostic scanner, dielectric test equipment, impact wrench, multimeter, torque wrench, creeper, jack and jack stands, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, funnels, hoses, cleaning agents, fuel, communication devices, tablet computer.
