Senior Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at a local Walmart retail store. This role supports and oversees repair within the Walmart facilities Refrigeration HVAC equipment team, utilizing commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills with hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 10 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Completion of a 2‑year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2‑year associate’s of applied science in A/C and refrigeration.
• Excellent driving record.
• Prior work experience with glycol and CO₂ systems.

Individual compensation packages are based on skill set, experience, level of job offer, qualifications and other job‑related factors. Eligible for bonus incentives.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 – $56.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
