Family Support Specialist

East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a full time Family Support Specialist for our Healthy Families America (HFA) Program to join our dedicated, supportive Healthy Families Team in Riverside, RI.

The Healthy Families of America program is designed to assist parents facing challenges. Families are enrolled prenatally or within three months of birth. EBCAP believes all families share the same aspirations for their children and will work collaboratively to contribute to their children’s learning and developing experience.

• Provide assessment, intake, home visiting, goal setting, and planning according to the benchmark goals established by the Rhode Island Department of Health.
• Coordinate services with other EBCAP home visiting, health, and teen-focused groups to maximum services and eliminate duplication.
• Adhere to HFA Performance Standards, agency goals, as well as personnel policies.

• Experience serving families of diverse social and economic backgrounds, using evidence based practice models and quality assurance and working with children birth to four years of age and their families
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required; bi-lingual capability (Spanish/English, Portuguese/English, Creole/English) preferred.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field with at least three years’ experience in the field. The ideal candidate must have knowledge of community resources and enjoy working with children and families. Bilingual capability in Spanish preferred, not required.
