Position Overview
The Specialist, Music instructs students in music theory, performance, and appreciation while integrating music with other academic disciplines and providing opportunities for students to showcase their talents through performances and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide weekly music instruction aligned with district curriculum.
- Develop engaging music lessons to encourage student participation and creativity.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate music with classroom instruction.
- Prepare students for performances including concerts and school programs.
- Maintain musical instruments and audio equipment.
- Monitor students to ensure a safe learning environment.
- Prepare lesson plans, documentation, and program records.
- Organize and manage classroom materials and supplies.
- Promote music programs through performances and school events.
- Research and apply for grants to support music programs.
- Participate in meetings and professional development activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
