  • Direct daily office operations, including correspondence and inquiries, office procedures, calendars, supplies, equipment, shared spaces, and service to students, faculty, visitors, and campus partners.
  • Hire, train, schedule, assign, supervise, and evaluate student office assistants; provide clear guidance and feedback as department needs change.
  • Serve as the department's hiring manager and coordinate student employee and adjunct hiring processes each semester, including related employment documentation and contract processing.
  • Track department budgets and projections; monitor account activity; coordinate purchasing, travel and expense processes, receipt reconciliation, scholarships, payroll, adjunct contracts, and student employment documentation.
  • Manage department communications and recruitment materials across channels such as the website, social media, newsletters, and digital displays; coordinate publicity and logistics for department events.

What qualifies you for this role:

Required:

  • A firm commitment to the mission of Brigham Young University.
  • Bachelor's degree plus two years of office administrative work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and office experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage administrative, financial, and operational processes with accuracy, sound judgment, and discretion.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related productivity tools, with the ability to learn university systems.
  • Ability to prioritize competing work, meet recurring deadlines, communicate clearly, and work effectively with students, faculty, and campus partners; experience supervising or training employees.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree plus five or more years of progressively responsible administrative, financial, supervisory, or university operations experience. Experience with BYU systems such as Workday, AIM or Course Dog, event planning, or department communications is also preferred.
