Digital Media and PR Supervisor; Part-time

Overview

Visual Media and Public Relations Project Manager (Part-time/28 hours per week) at Brigham Young University. This role oversees the production of professional print and digital media and PR efforts to build an outstanding presence for the College of Humanities. You will be a key member of the college’s Communications team.

• Mentor and train student employees — supervise and mentor a team of 3–8 students, providing hands-on learning in graphic design, videography, photography, and web development.
• Manage strategic project prioritization — research, forecast, and prioritize projects based on time, budget, and impact to maximize resources and effectiveness.
• Oversee the design of the Humanities Alumni Magazine — guide design and production of a high-profile, 32-page publication with a circulation of over 50,000 print and digital copies.
• Direct public relations campaigns — lead PR efforts, develop visual messaging strategies, and create student engagement initiatives (e.g., marketing campaigns and promotional events).
• Ensure high-quality design and innovation — evaluate student work, maintain consistency in visual communication, and drive innovation in digital and print media strategies.
• Direct college and department web page design — lead student web/UX projects, maintaining college and department web pages and implementing changes within the university content management system.
• Create graphic design products — produce simple marketing materials using Canva.

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, communications, advertising, graphic design, or related field or more than 5 years of experience managing creative production
• Experience supervising, guiding, and evaluating employees in visual media
• Strong ability to create promotional materials across print, web, digital, and multimedia platforms, evidenced by portfolio
• Excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Experience with project management software (e.g., Trello, Airtable, Basecamp, Asana)
• Experience in graphic design programs, particularly Canva
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively
• Knowledge to create multi-disciplinary digital campaigns

• Bachelor’s degree in related field with four years of professional experience, including leadership roles
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Illustrator

Pay Grade: 52

Typical Starting Pay: $31.25 to $40.50 per hour
