Job Description Career ManagerThe Career Manager empowers students to achieve their desired career outcomes, facilitates employer connections in collaboration with faculty and staff, and coordinates career initiatives with the campus community and external partners. This position plays a key role in advancing career development for Kennedy Center students and in strengthening employer and alumni engagement across BYU.
Note:
This is a part‑time position (28) hours per week.
- Empower students to identify and achieve desired career outcomes
- Guide students in effective job search strategies
- Counsel students in professional communication for interviewing and networking
- Advise on resumes, cover letters, and other professional documents
- Teach courses relevant to career success
- Support students in evaluating career opportunities
- Facilitate connections between students and employers
- Advise on graduate program options related to career goals
- Strengthen strategic employer relationships with faculty and staff
- Facilitate networking and mentoring opportunities with employers to recruit BYU students
- Conduct and participate in strategic employer outreach with university partners
- Maintain knowledge of career outcomes for Kennedy Center programs
- Collaborate with campus partners to design initiatives enhancing student outcomes
- Contribute to research and best practices in higher education career services
- Participate in professional development and benchmarking activities
- Support faculty and staff in integrating career development into academic programs
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- 3 years of professional experience in recruiting, career services, or related industry
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution
- 5 years of managerial or higher education experience
- Experience teaching or advising college students on career development, with industry experience related to international or area studies
- Familiarity with CRM or career services platforms (e.g., Simplicity, Handshake) and technological competence (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
- Strong relationship‑building, collaboration, communication, problem‑solving, and customer service skills
- Ability to take initiative, manage multiple projects independently, and exercise professional judgement, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- 401k. BYU automatically contributes 8% at no cost to you. Additionally, if you contribute 5%, BYU adds an additional 4% (Rehires may qualify for different retirement plans)

Pay Level: 52
Typical Starting Pay: $65,500 - $84,500
