Dietary Aide - Per Diem
At Utah Valley Specialty Hospital, we provide critical care services for patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Our 40‑bed hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Respiratory Failure Certification and serves patients across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and Nevada. The dietary aide will support a patient‑centered, high‑volume medical environment and help care for patients requiring complex medical services such as trauma, infectious disease, and ventilator weaning.

- High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience.
- Food Handlers license required.
- Patient‑related service experience preferred.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Knowledge of patient diets and safe food handling requirements, and use of the Nutritional Care Manual.
- Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection‑control standards.
- Effective organizational and time‑management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
- Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group settings to customers, clients, and staff.
The dietary aide assists in the service of meals for patients, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities include unpacking and inspecting food stock, preparing and portioning food, carrying trays, delivering meals, maintaining a sanitary work environment, cleaning workstations and equipment, washing dishes and silverware, and supporting the hospital’s mission and guiding principles in daily practice.
Location & SalarySouth Jordan, UT — $18.00‑$22.00 per hour.
