A GSOC Operator plays a critical role in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats for an organization on a global scale. Below is a comprehensive job description that outlines the key responsibilities, qualifications, skills, and attributes typically expected for this position.
Shift Available:
Tuesday - Saturday - 12AM MT-8:30AM MT
- Use alarm systems to monitor alarms.
- Alert customer staff immediately if a security incident occurs.
- Escalate issues according to the customer's threat matrix.
- Provide regular reports on security incidents and alarm activations.
- Assist in setting up access rights for new employees and vendors.
- Manage and update credentials in Credential Management systems.
- Ensure dual credentialing is monitored for both systems.
- Respond to requests for credential management from the customer.
- Provide remote access support to authorized customer personnel.
- Ensure secure access through the security system.
- Assist in troubleshooting any access issues that may arise by passing along to Engineer.
- Answer incoming phone calls to the GSOC 24/7, 365 days a year.
- Provide excellent customer service to callers.
- Route calls to the appropriate person or department as needed.
- Maintain a log of calls for record-keeping and follow-up.
- Manage alerts and notifications through Intelligence platform for travel-related risks.
- Conduct routine analysis of global threats that could impact travelers.
- Communicate directly with travelers regarding safety information or alerts.
- Ensure travelers are informed of any relevant risks during their trips.
- Respond quickly:
When you receive an email during your shift, reply within 5 minutes. - Completing tasks:
Finish email tasks while on duty or hand over if not possible. - Handover information:
Document unfinished tasks for the next person. - Act quickly:
Take immediate action if you notice any security problems or alarms. - Work with others:
Communicate with on-site security team and emergency services as needed. - Use alert tools:
Use systems like Worldcue and Preparis to send alerts, after supervisor approval.
- Be the contact person:
Main point of contact for all security-related matters. - Provide updates:
Inform management and key team members of incidents and concerns. - Collaborate with other teams:
Work closely with IT, facilities management, etc.
