Job Details What is the compensation?Starting at $10.00 per hour (depending on experience)

- Responsible for the scorekeeping of adult and youth hockey league games for the Peaks Ice Arena of the Provo City Parks & Recreation Department.
- Keep accurate league and tournament required statistics and perform necessary data entry.
- Use league provided scoring systems and score sheets.
- Have knowledge of all league rules and guidelines and make sure they are being enforced by officials and players.
- Communicate with on-ice officials regarding any game situations and/or player eligibility matters.
- Communicate all major incidents on and off the ice to the hockey coordinator in a timely fashion.
- Enforce player roster and player check in.
- Enforce player suspension list and communicate suspensions to officials.
- Ensure cleanliness of scorekeeper box/player box.
- Assist staff as needed and perform other related duties as required.
Basic understanding of ice hockey knowledge and rules and ability to use required computer system to administer games.
What are the hours?Weekday evenings and possible Saturday mornings. Schedule may vary depending on department need.
What are the physical and environmental factors?This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work including scorekeeping adult and youth hockey league games and working with the public in sometimes stressful situations.
What is the selection process?This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received (at least seven days). Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
