Primary Responsibilities

  • Align and champion LSB Core Values:

  • Drive a safety‑first culture by supporting stop work authority for all employees.
  • Understand site and LSB procedures, assist in developing job aids, and deliver in‑person training.
  • Gather data to develop metrics that measure progress and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Execute the annual H&S plan using systematic, transparent measures.
  • Support the site Safety Committee and build relationships with operations, maintenance personnel, and supervisory staff.
  • Maintain detailed connections to operating units, maintenance activities, and projects for effective safety coverage.
  • Build plant system knowledge to address day‑to‑day findings, action items, and challenges.
  • Own and execute safety responsibilities (e.g., equipment inspection, fire water systems, rail safety, asbestos management, radio management, permit audits, self‑assessment programs).
  • Coordinate PPE, forms, and other safety equipment needs.
  • Manage air monitoring devices (calibration, equipment repair) and ensure their availability.
  • Partner with the Safety Manager to improve emergency response capability through training, equipment maintenance, and drills.
  • Collaborate with the Training Manager on the safety training curriculum.
  • Provide timely technical support to maintain compliance with OSHA laws, regulations, company standards, and site procedures.
  • Close action items from audits, investigations, and inspections.
  • Support off‑hours via an on‑call rotation program.
