Overview
The Unit Cooler Lead assists the Plant Manager by overseeing day-to-day activities of the Unit Cooler department, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring on-time completion of Unit Coolers based on company priority.
Responsibilities- Read, understand and enforce safety programs, coach and correct unsafe behaviors, handle safety hazards.
- Read, understand and enforce company policies, communicate expectations.
- Report injuries to EHS manager in a timely manner.
- Conduct interviews and assess candidates; make hire recommendations.
- Manage performance by coaching, setting department goals, recognizing issues, participating in annual reviews.
- Coordinate training programs for new hires.
- Attend leadership and safety training as required.
- Use work schedule to track department production.
- Be customer focused cooperating with other departments.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Serve as the go‑to person for day‑to‑day business.
- Coach, train, mentor coworkers on job performance and safe practices.
- Make recommendations on operational matters, including employee performance reviews.
- Facilitate informal resolution of conflicts among coworkers.
- Keep accurate records of completions and scrapped work.
- Monitor production hours and quality according to procedures.
- Ensure manufacturing instructions are followed.
- Complete any tasks assigned by the supervisor.
- Comply with regulations, laws, company policies.
- Work overtime as necessary.
- Arrive for work on time.
- Charge time accurately.
- Be self‑motivated, work independently.
- Care for tools and equipment, advise maintenance.
- Clean work area as required.
Education & Experience: High school education preferred. Welding experience preferred.
Skills: Effective communication, good listening, ability to read drawings and instructions, basic math, operational control, performance monitoring, team work.
Certificates, Licenses or Training: Forklift license, on‑site training.
Interaction with OthersReports to QC & QA Supervisor; works with all RAE team members.
Working EnvironmentIndustrial production area, exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, high noise levels, extreme temperatures, potential stress from deadlines and quality standards.

Other:
Sustained visual inspection, wearing PPE.
* Evaluate if assistance is needed.
OtherPhysical Requirements
St sustained use of eyesight for inspection. Ability to wear PPE.
