Cashier, Customer Service​/HelpDesk

Essential Job Functions:

• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
• Process customer transactions efficiently, accurately, and quickly.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages or overages, working honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items like Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
• Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Support safety programs, report unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues.
• Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment, answering questions about products.
• Comply with all laws and company policies.
• Work effectively in high-paced, stressful environments and manage conflicts cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
• Support customers including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Customer service experience
• Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
