The School of Engineering at Colorado State University Pueblo offers five undergraduate programs (in civil, industrial, and mechatronics engineering, civil engineering technology, and construction management) and two graduate programs in engineering at the master’s level. The faculty in School of Engineering perform research in engineering and provide service to the college, university, and the state of Colorado.
As part of the School of Engineering, The Construction Management program prepares baccalaureate degree graduates who have the necessary skills to plan, organize, staff, lead and exercise control in the directing and coordinating of resources to achieve construction project objectives. Accordingly, the program’s objective is to produce graduates who have the technical grounding in construction processes for civil works and have managerial skills to plan and direct projects.
PrimaryDuties
Teach 12 credit hours per semester, employing various modes of delivery, baccalaureate courses (including laboratory courses) primarily in the Construction Management program in accordance with program expectation. Teaching entails full participation of the faculty member in all activities that support the teaching and learning process, including preparing and presenting course materials; assessing and evaluating student performance; providing academic support to students outside the classroom including holding 5 office hours per week, selecting and ordering textbooks.
It will also include preparing proposals for new courses, recommending program modifications, and making necessary adjustments to the curriculum according to institutional procedures.
Engage in scholarly and creative activities that result in peer-reviewable products such as project reports, external and internal grant proposals, conference papers, seminar presentations, books, and/or manuals. Scholarly work will include undergraduate and graduate students in research when possible and appropriate.
Provide service to the department, college, institution, and community by participating in such activities as student advising, student recruiting, serving on committees and task groups that support the shared governance of the program, department, college, or institution. In addition, service activities include outreach to the community and profession.
Salary Range$60,200 - $80,000. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Minimum Qualifications- Doctorate in construction engineering or construction management; or a closely related field such as civil engineering or architectural engineering, conferred minimally before starting the tenure‑track faculty appointment.
- Ability to teach in at least three of the program areas described in the job statement summary.
- Excellent written and oral communication in English and the ability to use computer‑related technology as an educational tool for the development and delivery of instruction.
- Professional certification or license in Building Information Modeling;
Building Code;
Construction Accounting, and Finance;
Heavy Civil, Mechanical & Electrical. - Online teaching experience and experience in managing online course or program delivery.
- Minimum total of three (3) verifiable years of construction industry experience with at least one (1) year of U.S. construction industry experience.
- Experience in management level such as project manager, lead estimator, or site supervisor.
- Experience in heavy/highway construction practice.
