Introduction
Colorado State University Pueblo (CSU Pueblo) is a fully accredited, regional comprehensive state university. The School of Engineering offers five undergraduate programs in civil, industrial, and mechatronics engineering, civil engineering technology, and construction management, and two graduate programs at the master’s level. The Construction Management program prepares baccalaureate degree graduates who have the necessary skills to plan, organize, staff, lead and exercise control in the directing and coordinating of resources to achieve construction project objectives.
Accordingly, the program’s objective is to produce graduates who have the technical grounding in construction processes for civil works and have managerial skills to plan and direct projects.
- Teach 12 credit hours per semester in the Construction Management program, employing various modes of delivery, including in-person and online courses. Teaching includes preparation of course materials, assessment and evaluation of student performance, and providing academic support outside the classroom, such as holding five office hours per week and selecting and ordering textbooks.
- Develop proposals for new courses, recommend program modifications, and make necessary adjustments to the curriculum in accordance with institutional procedures.
- Conduct scholarly and creative activities that result in peer‑reviewable products such as project reports, external and internal grant proposals, conference papers, seminar presentations, books, and/or manuals. When possible, involve undergraduate and graduate students in research.
- Provide service to the department, college, institution, and community by participating in student advising, student recruiting, serving on committees and task groups that support shared governance, and engaging in community outreach and professional outreach.
$60,200 – $80,000
Minimum Qualifications- Doctorate in construction engineering or construction management; or a closely related field such as civil engineering or architectural engineering, conferred minimally before starting the tenure‑track faculty appointment.
- Ability to teach in at least three of the program areas described in the job statement summary.
- Excellent written and oral communication in English and the ability to use computer‑related technology as an educational tool for the development and delivery of instruction.
- Professional certification or license in Building Information Modeling, Building Code, Construction Accounting and Finance, or Heavy Civil, Mechanical & Electrical.
- Online teaching experience and experience in managing online courses or program delivery.
- Minimum of three verifiable years of construction industry experience, with at least one year in U.S. construction industry experience.
- Experience in management roles such as project manager, lead estimator, or site supervisor.
- Experience in heavy/highway construction practice.
- Experience in Building Information Modeling and the ability to incorporate current technologies into the curriculum.
