OverviewWe’re hiring a Program Quality Engineer to drive end‑to‑end production execution at our Pueblo, CO (preferred) or Santa Fe Springs, CA facility. In this high‑visibility role, you’ll be the primary operational focal – overseeing planning, scheduling, material flow, and delivery while ensuring alignment across manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and quality. You’ll optimize processes, support manufacturing readiness, and champion on‑time delivery from development through production units.
Ideal candidates bring strong manufacturing experience, RCCA and process‑validation expertise, and the ability to lead cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced, highly technical environment.
- Primary quality interface for customers and suppliers for all High Temperature Composites programs (HTC).
- Ensure the HTC program meets all Quality & Mission Assurance requirements, create the quality plan for each HTC customer/program, and work on the compliance matrix.
- Coordinate with Engineering, VSL and oversee contracts through all program lifecycle phases, from design to production and sustainment.
- Develop and monitor quality metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives for HTC.
- Certified DSQR for External HTC customers.
- Work with supplier quality to validate acceptability of supply chain approach and integrate new vendors, as applicable.
- Work with Engineering to draft new process specifications and inspection criterion, as necessary.
- Work with procurement on quality notes/requirements for purchase orders.
- Work closely with Engineering and VSL to enforce process maturity, transition to production activities, and conduct Production Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), gage R&R and Control plan.
- Work with operations on First Article Inspection, and Quality Control Plan efforts and play a key role on submitting MRB and FAI to customers.
- Conduct day‑to‑day Quality Assurance activities for HTC while engaging with key stakeholders across the organization (contracts, buyers, production control and operation).
- Engage at both strategic and tactical levels, focusing on quality and schedule performance, early engagement, influencing and providing differentiating value to program teams and customers.
- Review and approve changes to the technical data packages (ES), drawings, operation documents and assign actions when necessary.
- Support cross‑functional teams in RCCA investigations, including identifying non‑conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure. Implement projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.
- Support quality investigations related to production deviations, non‑conformances, and customer complaints.
- Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) in accordance with AS9145 and AS13100 (P&W).
- Travel may be required up to 30 %.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Experience in interfacing with internal and external customers at all levels.
- Working experience in supporting design and/or manufacturing processes.
- Experience with root cause corrective action (RCCA) and applying quality methodology and tools.
- Experience in process validation and statistical methods.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience with Six Sigma or Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Experienced in 8D, quality tools, 5 Whys of Root Cause Analysis, and SPC analysis.
- Experience as a lead for cross‑functional teams and providing forecasting to reach established goals.
