Hotel Front Desk, Customer Service Rep
Position Summary
Performing any of the Front Desk, PBX, and accounting functions to ensure late night auditing and balancing while providing professional and efficient guest service.
Job Requirements- Responsible for greeting arriving and departing guests and assist in check‑in and check‑out procedures.
- Provide information to all guests regarding the hotel, casino, local services, attractions, and locations for business, dining, and entertainment.
- Respond to all guest complaints or issues in a hospitable and efficient manner focusing on guest satisfaction.
- Use cash/credit card handling and balancing procedures to complete each shift.
- Maintain and safeguard monetary banks.
- Ensure all room rates and guest information is correct by balancing registration bucket to Micros FDM System.
- Log and inform appropriate supervisor of any and all discrepancies.
- Ensure all reports are thoroughly and neatly completed at the end of each shift to enable a smooth transition for the next business day.
- Maintain books and records within the hotel and reconcile to proof totals on a nightly basis.
- Prepare accounting statements and reports as required and ensure proper reconciliation with supporting documentation.
- Be familiar with the hotel, casino, services offered, and the image we wish to project.
- Perform any and all duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in night audit, front desk, reservations, and hospitality is preferred.
Must have the ability to access, read, and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system. Must be a team player with a cooperative and positive attitude.
Equipment to Be UsedPBX phone system, keyboard, fax/copier, key card machine, cash register, 10‑key calculator.
Physical Demands / Mental DemandsAbility to concentrate in a very fast‑paced environment and exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and taking effective action. Physical demands: frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch; may occasionally need to lift more than 25 pounds. Must be able to continuously look at a monitor for long periods and tolerate continuous noise and distraction.
