Job Description

The City of Pueblo is hiring Police Patrol Officers (Entry Level or Lateral Transfer). Responsibilities include police patrol, criminal investigations, traffic law enforcement, criminal law enforcement activities, and community engagement. You will be supported by a Police Sergeant to help you succeed. This full-time role offers a competitive salary ranging from $76,474.44 to $93,288.72, benefits, and a dynamic work environment. • U.S. citizen at application time
• At least 21 years old by the written exam date
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license at application;
  Colorado license within 30 days of employment. License restrictions that hinder city driving may disqualify you.
• No felony, domestic violence misdemeanor, or disqualifying misdemeanor convictions. No DUI/DWAI within the last five years.
• Military veterans must provide DD-214 showing Honorable or Uncharacterized discharge.

Preferred qualifications include Colorado POST Certification and higher education.

• Tattoos or markings on head, face, ears, neck (above collarbone), or hands (wrist to fingertips). Exemptions apply for permanent cosmetics and current employees hired before July 1, 2025.
• Recent drug use:
  Marijuana within one year; illegal drugs within five years prior to application.

Applicants must undergo background checks, drug screening, psychological, and medical evaluations.
