Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples and inform customers of specials.
• Provide fresh, correctly portioned products to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommend products and assist customers in finding items.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Follow food safety and temperature logs, prepare foods according to instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients; package, label, and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate actions.
• Maintain inventory, stock, and organize merchandise.
• Ensure proper temperatures and maintain logs.
• Create a welcoming environment, promote trust, and respect among staff.
• Adhere to all food safety and safety procedures, report unsafe conditions or accidents.
• Manage conflicts, act with honesty, follow directions, and assist diverse customers including minors, seniors, and those with special needs.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodations.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills and effective communication.
• Basic math knowledge.
• Ability to obtain a food handlers permit upon employment.

Desired Experience

• Customer service background.
• Bakery or deli experience preferred.
• Retail experience is helpful.
