Heavy Equipment Operator

The Heavy Equipment Operator is a skilled and safety-driven position that works closely with and supports excavation, grading, and underground utility projects. This role requires hands-on experience with heavy machinery, blueprint reading, and precision work in fast-paced construction environments. Ideal candidates must be able to interpret blueprints and site plans, inspect and maintain equipment daily, and ensure safe, efficient operations. Clear communication with crews and supervisors is essential, along with strict adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.

Accurate recordkeeping and support for additional duties contribute to overall project success

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, dozers, and compactors to support excavation, pipe laying and grading projects.
• Cut and maintain grade according to project specifications.
• Lay water, sewer, storm drainage and other underground utility pipes
• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes
• Perform soil compaction and quality checks to meet project requirements
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance and repairs
• Follow all company and OSHA safety protocols at all times
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and project managers to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage
• Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for the performance of the job
