• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care as appropriate.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family as appropriate.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

• Education:
  
  Associate s degree required. BSN preferred.
• Required Skills:
  
  Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and ability to work in a high-stress environment.
• Certifications:
  
  Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 90 days of hire, STABLE within 90 days of hire, Handle With Care (HWC) within 6 months. TN-specific or additional certifications (TN TNCC/ENPC) may be preferred.
• Licenses:
  Licensed Registered Nurse in Tennessee or a Compact State with Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
