• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care as appropriate.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

• Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.
• Required Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and ability to work in a stressful environment.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire;
  Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days;
  Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days;
  Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 90 days; STABLE within 90 days;
  Handle With Care (HWC) within 6 months;
  Trauma Nursing Core Certification (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification (ENPC) preferred.
• Licenses: Licensed Registered Nurse in Tennessee or a Compact State with Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
