The Respiratory Therapist coordinates “high‑quality, patient‑centered respiratory care” in accordance with state standards. Responsibilities include diagnostic testing, therapeutic procedures and monitoring of patients receiving mechanical ventilation.

• Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency and cuff pressure.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate need for respiratory therapy.
• Administer therapies, such as oxygen, aerosol medication and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with artificial airway placement and initiate mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patient response and notify provider or intervene when needed.
• Transport ventilator‑dependent patients.
• Respond to emergent situations and ensure airway integrity during resuscitation.

• Virginia license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Associate’s degree or certificate from an approved RT school.
• NBRC Registry – Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 180 days.
• PALS certification within 180 days.
• NRP certification.

• 1–2 years experience.
• NBRC Directory listing.

Hours:

Full‑time, night shift (10 p.m.–6 a.m.)
